5 Chinese Phones We WANT in India

1. INUI u2

A few months ago we covered a few Chinese handsets that should make their way to India, and as predicted a few have, especially the Oppo N1. While the Koreans are already here in a big way, Oppo, Huawei, Gionee and Xiaomi hot on their heels determined not to let them steal the show. Chinese phones have proved to be packed with features, with great build quality at attractive prices. Here are a new batch that will make your jaw drop.

Think of the INUI U2 as a better HTC One (m8 included). With a sleek, strong 0.4 inch aluminum slab, the build quality is stellar, the phone takes bits of it¡¯s looks from the HTC One as well as the materials. Packed in is a 2.2 Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB of Ram on a one hand friendly 4.7 inch display. Now INUI is a part of Gionee, so it has the stellar 16MP rear camera that¡¯s present on the Elife E7 with a sensor size of 1.34?m. The front camera is HTC One¡¯s 4mp Ultrapixel selfie cam. Hopefully Gionee will stop messing around with plastic phones and bring down this monster at the price of a Moto X.

2. Vivo XShot

With the success of the Z1 and the Nokia 1020, phone camera are trying to bring near DSLR quality camera to the smartphone. The Vivo Xshot is one such phone, taking just a Sony 13 MP camera and converting it to something else, with an extra wide angle 6-element f/1.8 lens, two toned LED flash and optical stabilisation, with 4k video shooting. The front shooter is an 8 megapixel wide angle lens with flash, for taking superb low light selfies. The high end Xshot comes with the new Snapdragon 801 SoC, with 3 GB of ram and 32 GB storage. The Xshot retails at about $560, thats around Rs. 33,000.

3. OnePlus One

This Oppo owned subsidary OnePlus¡¯s new phone, the One, is aggressively marketed as a flagship killer, with it¡¯s tagline ¡°never settle¡±. Featuring some very impressive specs, starting with a 5.5 inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 3, powered by the blazing fast Snapdragon 801 SoC at 2.5 Ghz, 3GB Ram. The shooters are a 13 megapixel Exmor camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The One¡¯s design is a sleek large plastic phone running Cyanogen mod specially designed for the one, with lots of software features like gestures and voice wakeup. The phone retails online for 299$ for the white, which is about Rs.17000. Hopefully Oppo brings down the OnePlus One along with their new Find 7.

4. Oppo Find 7

The Oppo N1 phablet has already reached Indian shores, and now hopefully the Oppo Find 7 is next in line, and if timed right it could be the first QHD phone in India officially, if it launches before the rumoured LG G3. Using the same Snapdragon 801 as above at 2.1 Ghz, the Find 7 comes with 3 GB ram, 32 GB internal memory upgradeable upto 128GB via MicroSD. The screen is a 5.5 inch monster capable of 2560x1440 resolution, with Gorilla Glass 3, and support for wet or gloved fingers. The camera is the same 13MP Sony Exmor camera as the OnePlus One above, capable of 4K video. The front camera is a 5MP wide angle. The rear camera can take a 50MP photo, by combining several shots using technical wizardry, giving you a large printable picture.

In addition there¡¯s a cheaper lower specced Find 7a with a 1080p screen also planned. the Find 7 has the highest chance of coming to India among the phones on this list.

5. Sharp Aquos Xx 302Sh

The Sharp Aquos is the unlikeliest candidate among the lot to come to our shores, however it is one that we all should collectively raise our candles/lighters in the general direction of China for. With an absolutely impressive screen to body ratio the Aquos Xx has razor thin bezels on the sides of it¡¯s 5.2 inch 1080p display, making the phone a bit smaller than the S4. The whole unit is powered by the familiar Snapdragon 800, with 2 GB RAM. Out back is a 16MP camera with a wide f/1.9 aperture. The front camera is a 12 MP shooter, so you can take some of the best selfies ever. What¡¯s more is that the Sharp Aquos is Water and Dust resistant. The phone isn¡¯t exactly cheap, at approx $670 USD, that¡¯s about Rs, 40,000, but it¡¯s still a better buy than the 5S. The Sharp Aquos Xx comes in a mini variant too.
