Apple Earned Rs 6.5 Lakh Crores In 2019: Rs 4 Lakh Crore Just Selling iPhones

Apple did a lot of things right in 2019, that definitely made a lot of Apple fans really happy, And this has now translated to one of the best earnings Apple has in the past few years.

The iPhone 11 lineup, in particular, was successful due to its crazy fast performance paired with one of the best cameras on a smartphone in 2019. While Pixel 4 could in many cases overtake the iPhone 11 Pro in camera prowess, the phone dealt with issues of its own, making iPhone the wiser choice -- resulting in Apple to make an overall $22.2 billion profit on a $91.8 billion revenue.

Tim Cook said in the company¡¯s earnings report, ¡°We are thrilled to report Apple¡¯s highest quarterly revenue ever, fueled by strong demand for our iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models, and all-time records for services and wearables.¡±

He further added, ¡°During the holiday quarter our active installed base of devices grew in each of our geographic segments and has now reached over 1.5 billion.¡±

Looking at revenue generation only from iPhones, Apple had an 8 percent rise year-over-year, amounting to $55.97 billion of the total $91.8 billion revenue.

Apple also made a decent income with its services (including Apple TV+) amounting to a whopping $12.7 billion.

On the other hand, Apple¡¯s wearables segment which included Apple Watches made a decent $10 billion. This was actually an all-time revenue record, despite production falling short and Apple facing a challenge to meet user demand.

A place where Apple didn¡¯t do well last year was the Macs and iPads. Apple witnessed iPad revenue to drop 11 percent, while Mac revenue trickled down by 3.4 percent, even with Apple launching Mac Pro and XDR displays in time for the holidays

2020 too is expected to be a promising year for Apple in terms of iPhones as well as the iPad as leaks and rumours indicate Apple could launch its first 5G phone this year -- temping many people to switch to a faster network. This year¡¯s iPad is expected to sport a triple-camera setup like the iPhone 11, and that could add something cool to the new iPad lineup.
