Apple¡¯s lead design officer Jony Ive says that people who use their phone too much are actually going about it all wrong.
In a public appearance before the media he said about the iPhone, ¡°Like any tool, you can see there's wonderful use and then there's misuse.¡± When asked what he meant by that by New Yorker editor David Remnick, he indicated using the iPhone near constantly could be construed as misuse.
Ive said that part of the inspiration for the iPhone was how much other phones they were using were ¡°a little soul destroying.¡± He even went on to say that the Apple team tried to build the Apple Watch so that people could get their instant notifications right there, with those not on such a time crunch able to just check their phones later. Ive said the wearable helped him stop incessantly checking his emails and thereby misusing his iPhone.
