Apple Showed Off 'Most Durable' Apple Watch Series 7, New iPad Mini At iPhone 13 Event
We're getting new iPads and Apple Watch this year!
Apple, today at its September event, has announced a new series Apple Watch as well as a refreshed line-up of iPads, along with the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro.
Apple Watch Series 7
Apple Watch this year gets a massive design upgrade with a larger screen -- 20 percent larger than the previous generation and the borders are almost 40 percent thinner. And the shape of the watch is still in the same design. The display is also up to 70 percent brighter.
There is no new health feature, except fall detection while cycling.
The buttons on the Apple Watch have been redesigned for better navigation and can also accommodate more text while limiting the amount of scrolling. Series 7 also gets new watch faces, making the most of the screen real-estate.
The screen is crack resistant and gets IPX6 dust resistance. It also charges 33 percent faster than the Series 6.
Apple Watch Series 7 will be available for a price tag of $399 -- .
iPad 10.2 9th Generation
First on the list is the Classic iPad with a 10.2-inch display, powered by the A13 Bionic, offering over 20 percent of better performance over its predecessor. It still rocks the thick forehead and TouchID button that was seen in the older models.
The rear camera gets better low light and autofocus. However, the front camera gets an even better 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with Centre Stage, that allows dynamic frame readjustment for moving subjects, keeping them in the frame at all times.
The display on the iPad also gets True-tone, allowing for a pleasant reading experience. Apple has also announced that it will ship this iPad with the latest iPadOS 15.
iPad 10.2 starts Rs 30,900, and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at Rs 42,900, in silver and space grey finishes, starting with 64GB variants.
iPad Mini 2021
iPad Mini got a major overhaul in design, getting design cues from the iPad Air in a compact form factor that fits right in the palm.
The screen loses the TouchID home button and instead gets thinner bezels with a brand new 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and True Tone.
TouchID still survives, on the power button, just like the iPad Air. Powering the iPad Mini is an A13 Bionic processor which is 40 percent better, and also offers Neural Engine for AI-based workloads.
iPad Mini also gets USB-C for connectivity, ditching the dated Lightning connector. It also comes equipped with 5G for Wireless connectivity.
The camera at the back includes a 12-megapixel shooter with Focus Pixels and F/1.8 aperture as well as an upgraded ISP for better low light imagery. Even the front camera gets a 12-megapixel wide-angle treatment with Centre Stage.
Wi-Fi models of iPad mini are available with a starting price of Rs 46,900 and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at Rs 60,900.
