Apple Watch Could Get Feature To Monitor Blood Sugar Levels Soon

Apple Watch today has gotten the reputation of one of the best fitness wearables in the market right now, due to its heart-monitoring and ECG features, along with accurate fitness tracking.

Last year, we saw Apple take this to the next level by allowing its users to monitor blood oxygen saturation. However, it looks like Apple isn¡¯t yet done giving new features to its beloved watch.
A report by the Telegraph highlights that the future Apple Watch could come with a plethora of health sensors including the ability to monitor blood pressure and even blood glucose and alcohol levels.

This was revealed from the listing documents that Rockley Photonics has shared, as it prepares to go public in New York and has admitted that a major chunk of its revenue in the last two years has been from Apple, via an ongoing supply and development contract.

People suffering from diabetes have been desperately waiting for a non-invasive way for testing blood glucose levels. As of now, patients are forced to pierce their fingers to collect blood samples which are then inserted into blood monitoring devices that show the amount of glucose present.
CEO of Rockley Photonics has highlighted that the feature to allow monitoring of blood pressure, blood glucose and alcohol toxicity levels could be seen in consumer products by 2022, but hasn¡¯t specifically stated that it will be seen in an Apple device.

However, if the Cupertino giant does pack these features into the Apple Watch, it would make the smartwatch an even stronger opponent in the device category and with Apple¡¯s software integration that it¡¯s known for, become even more invincible.
