¡®Baby Shark¡¯ Is Now Most Viewed Video On YouTube, With Over 7.05 Billion Views

When you think about annoying earworms that can stay in your head and truly ruin your day, the song that comes to the mind of many is the popular children song ¡®Baby Shark¡¯.

The annoyingly catchy track has split the world in two teams -- one that finds it adorable while one that finds it extremely unbearable.

However, this song has surpassed ¡®Despacito¡¯ as one of the most played songs on popular streaming platform YouTube. Yes, that happened -- the popular Latin song by Luis Fonsi has been dethroned as the most played song on the video streaming platform.

Baby Shark song has been played a whopping 7.05 billion times, taking over Despacito which was played for 7.03 billion times. In case you thought 7.04 billion views isn¡¯t a lot, BBC added it up and revealed that if played back-to-back, it would last for 30,187 years. Yes, that much.

The animated song has been developed by South Korean company Pinkfong, and it has managed to make a considerable $5.2 million just from YouTube streams. The Baby Shark Do Do song was sung by Korean-American singer Hope Segoine and was uploaded on the video platform in the year 2015. However, it took time to get to the level of popularity it is at today.

Surprisingly, Ed Sheeran¡¯s ¡®Shape of You¡¯ is still third on the charts with 5.05 billion views, followed by See You Again by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa at 4.79 billion views. However, the fifth position is held by another kids music video -- 'Masha and the Bear' by Get Movies which sits at 4.36 billion views, followed by ¡®Johny Johny Yes Papa¡¯ by LooLoo kids at 4.14 billion views.
