Microsoft co-founder and former CEO Bill Gates recently shared his thoughts on what a world with artificial intelligence (AI) would look like. On Trevor Noah's "What Now?" podcast, he envisioned a post-AI future where humans would only have to work for three days a week.
What did Gates say?
This three-day work week would only be made possibly by advancements in artificial intelligence, Gates suggested when Noah asked Gates about his thoughts on the dangers of AI, especially in the context of jobs currently performed by humans. Microsoft co-founder told Noah that may be in the future, humans "don't have to work so hard."

With machines fulfilling most human needs, a three-day work week would be imaginable. "If you eventually get a society where you only have to work three days a week, that¡¯s probably OK."
How could AI change our world?
Even then, Gates has previously warned against the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), saying that its introduction may be compared to the introduction of the PC, claiming that both employers and employees had to adapt, and they did.
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon earlier echoed similar sentiments, claiming that a 3.5-day work week looks likely in the future due to advancements in the realm of AI.
Earlier, Gates had praised OpenAI's viral AI chatbot - ChatGPT, which he called a significant invention just like the internet and capable of potentially changing the world. Even then, the sharp rise in AI tools has intensified concerns over job security.
