Today, China has the highest number of vaccinated individuals in its nation at over 200 crore doses and India comes second with more than 100 crore doses. In India, almost 75 percent of the eligible population has taken the first dose.

In fact, eight states and union territories have achieved 100 percent coverage of the first dose. Four more states and union territories have over 90 percent coverage of the first dose, based on government data.
India initially had a slow start, taking 85 days to jab 10 crore doses. However, the next 10 crores happened in just 46 days, and the next 10 crores took only 28 days. The shortest span for achieving 10 crore jabs was just 11 days.
