Chinese Kids Deleted Their School App To Avoid Studies, By Rating It 'Bad' 8 Lakh Times Online

As kids, none of us really liked studying. And especially during times when everyone had an off and stayed at home.

Today, with the coronavirus outbreak that started from Hubei province in China, the whole city of Wuhan is experiencing a tighter lockdown with families adhering to self-quarantine in their homes.
Amidst this quarantine, the kids are doing their schooling and homework with the help of Ding Talk -- an app owned by Alibaba that has been redesigned to communicate with teachers and other students to not let the kid¡¯s education get impacted due to the novel coronavirus. The same app was originally used by adults for communicating with their office colleagues.
However, during this lockdown, the kids aren¡¯t really interested in studying. And one can only imagine how they¡¯d be feeling staying locked indoors, unable to meet their friends in person.
So they decided to do something truly unthinkable -- they started giving Ding Talk bad ratings on the app store.
They did this hoping that the negative ratings will force the app to be pulled down. No more app equals no more school, deviously genius, right? And it surprisingly worked.

What¡¯s worse is that these kids have literally forced the app developers to beg for their life on social media. In a recent post on social media platforms, the text when translated stated, ¡° I am only five years old. Please don¡¯t kill me.¡±
Reuters translated a few of these reviews. One of them stated, ¡°Thank you so much DingTalk for making me feel the warmth of coronavirus even though I am not in Wuhan. I am giving you five-stars, but in instalments.¡±
Another review said, ¡°My holidays! I love DingTalk, say no more, there is one star for you.¡±
While it is unclear if the app will ever be pulled down or will there be any easements for the kids to get rid of doing their homework, this is an unprecedented feat, to say the least.
