Despite Bad iPhone Sales, Tim Cook Says Apple's Future Has "Never Been More Optimistic"

Apple is in kind of a rough spot at the moment. It's iPhones haven't been selling all that much, and reinventing them will prove tough now that foldable phones are already on the market.

And yet, CEO Tim Cook still thinks the company's future is as rosy as it's ever been.

At Apple's annual general meeting in Cupertino earlier this week, Cook said he's "never been more optimistic" about the company's place today and its direction in the near future. He repeated the company line once more, that Apple is set to double its revenue from services in 2020, from the $25 billion they earned in 2016.

Cook reassured investors at the event, telling them Apple is "planting seeds and rolling the dice" on a number of upcoming products that he guarantees will "blow you away", according to Bloomberg.

Aside from new devices however, Cook also mentioned the company is looking to rework its $1,200 MacBook Air, possibly releasing it in a more affordable form. Either way, we'll only find out for sure when they launch later this year. The company is also reportedly releasing new AirPods, maybe even as early as April.

But any new iPhones, that Cook conspicuously glossed over in his investor address, will only launch by September. Whether or not they will blow your mind is another question entirely.
