Dolce & Gabanna Had Drones Show Off Handbags During A Fashion Show, Instead Of Human Models
To be fair, those drones really have a fierce "walk".
When we think of professions that could be replaced by robots, you¡¯d think models would be safe well into the future.
Until we can develop synthetic exoskeletons that at least look like real skin. Yeah, you¡¯d be wrong.

The fashion industry isn¡¯t all clothes after all, it¡¯s also accessories. And this week, luxury designer brand Dolce & Gabanna proved you don¡¯t need models to sell handbags.
You could use machines instead.
At a show in Milan this Sunday, the fashion house was over an hour late to begin. It turns out, the delay was because Dolce & Gabanna were wrangling together a bunch of drones to kick off the event. Before the traditional models and their designer wear on the ramp, the brand had a few drones carrying the house¡¯s handbags flutter up to centrestage before doing a circuit of the runway.

You¡¯d better believe the feat wasn¡¯t easy to coordinate, audience members were asked to turn off their Wi-Fi and hotspots to make sure nothing went awry. It was probably also a nightmare for fashion executives used to micromanaging shows.
Either way, it¡¯s still heartening to see even tangential industries warming up to technology.
