Elon Musk's Boring Company Has Completed 1st Section Of Its Underground Tunnel In Los Angeles
Despite it's name, the company has exciting plans aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the city.
Visionary tech icon and eccentric billionaire Elon Musk is at it again!
He has just announced an update on his latest wacky endeavour. He says his tunnel-boring firm, The Boring Company, has officially begun digging under Los Angeles.
The Boring Company
The Boring Company was set up amidst fanfare and guffaws (from Musk himself as well) a few months ago, as part of a project to dig subterranean tunnels beneath Los Angeles, in order to improve gridlock conditions in the city.
No longer waiting for Godot. It has begun boring and just completed the first segment of tunnel in LA.

Musk at the time said the idea came to him while stuck in a traffic. So far ¡®Godot¡¯, the company¡¯s tunnel drill named after a play by Samuel Beckett, has completed the first segment of a tunnel in LA, with much more work planned in the coming months.
Instead of roads, Musk has a sort of electric-powered sled system planned for the tunnels, theoretically capable of transporting cars along the length at up to 200 kmph. The entire subterranean network planned is expected to take about 10 years to finish.
In the meantime, Musk fans and naysayers alike are keeping a close eye on the company, eager to see how the project develops alongside other projects of his like SpaceX and Solar City.
