Buterin revealed his controversial views in a Twitter conversation that originated from Elon Musk where Musk stated, ¡°We should be much more worried about population collapse¡±, stating that if there are not enough people on Earth, there won¡¯t be enough on Mars.
We should be investing in technology that makes having kids much faster/easier/cheaper/more accessible

Synthetic wombs, etc
Not long after, Sahil Lavingia, founder of @gumrod -- an e-commerce company that sells digital products, memberships etc. -- chimed in stating, ¡°We should be investing in technology that makes having kids much faster/easier/cheaper/more accessible. Synthetic wombs, etc.¡±

Soon after, Buterin chimed in stating that synthetic wombs could not only be the solution for dealing with the population collapse, but it could also help bridge the financial disparity between men and women salaries, quoting a Vox article.
Buterin said, ¡°Disparities in economic success between men and women are far larger once marriage+children enter the picture. Synthetic wombs would remove the high burden of pregnancy, significantly reducing the inequality.¡±
I think your synthetic brain implants have gone wrong, pregnancy was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life, connecting me to the earth energy like nothing else, why would I give that up for anything, you need to look at your connection to the natural world guys

These statements weren¡¯t taken positively by readers who felt this is just taking science into unnatural territories, extracting the very notion of humanity at its root.
Classic Etereum thinking: propose an unnecessarily complex solution to a 'problem' (that's not a problem) using technology for its own sake that introduces a significant foundation of unknown and unanticipated 2nd and 3rd order problems down the line that cannot be resolved.

Some women on the other hand thought this could probably work.
Agreed 100%, I'm sure most (or all!) women will love this idea once they get over the initial novelty. The ones that don't probably won't because they live in an environment where they can't help but be deeply conditioned by men.

it's sad to me that as a woman, I have to choose between (a) not having kids and (b) putting my health at risk to do so
I for one would love to have more options!

While there were many who thought men were the root of the problem and there are other ways of dealing with the issue.
For equality's sake, there's a better way than synthetic wombs & it doesn't even need a high tech: neuter all men and spay all women, and we are all rid of the child bearing "burden" and equal. Synthetic wombs = dehumanizing tech looking for worlds "inequality problems" to solve

Testicles ablation and sperm congelation would remove the high burden of sex obsession, significantly increasing the inequality
Many strongly suggested the fact that women don¡¯t need to defy the laws of nature to be treated equally and with respect in this 21st-century world.
Maybe we should change companies approach to pregnancy, make childcare more accessible and affordable? Before we change wombs. There is natural bonding that occurs between the mother and infant in the womb, what are the consequences of losing out on that w/synthetic womb?
¡ª 3520 (@gpunk3520) January 19, 2022
Disparity is not just because of the mother's womb but because of the after birth needs and care a baby needs. If all man starts taking care of their kids equally like mother the problem is solved. It's not about the womb, that's such a pure nature.
