Gamers Aren't Antisocial: Over 70% Gamers Play Together To Socialise
The pandemic lockdown caused by the novel coronavirus resulted in many people to start gaming with nearly half of the respondents stating that they've been playing more since the pandemic.
Whenever someone says they¡¯re a gamer, their mind creates a rather strange picture -- an antisocial person who just sits and plays games all day alone, and indulges in junk food most of the time.

However, now a novel survey conducted by UK-based game developer Jagex suggests that gamers are anything but antisocial. They asked around 2,000 gamers from across the globe to respond to stereotypes that are associated with gamers and their lifestyle.

Play games to stay connected
However, this wasn¡¯t because they wanted to be antisocial, but in fact to connect with others, as 71 percent of individuals claim they played with their friends while maintaining distance during the pandemic.
As many as 36 percent of gamers played more with online friends compared to just 28 percent of In Real Life (IRL) friends. The survey highlights that gaming is more sociable than solitary sport.
Not many gamers stay up all night playing
In case you also had a misconception about gamers playing for late hours every day, you¡¯ll be surprised to know that most players stuck to sociable hours with 48.5 percent playing in the evening around 8pm and midnight, and 26.5 percent playing between 4pm and 8pm.
Only seven percent said that they played in the night between midnight and 4am, and just two percent played from 2 am to 8am. Moreover, 8 percent of people have admitted that they¡¯ve played games at the time they should actually be working.
Where they prefer playing
Less than four percent of gamers preferred playing in the basement, compared to more than half who played in their bedrooms. A quarter of individuals played in their living room and around 20 percent played in their home office.

What gamers prefer to eat and drink
In case you thought most gamers only relied on junk food, you¡¯d be surprised to know that 37 percent don¡¯t eat anything while gaming, whereas 21 percent said they only eat home-cooked food. 10 percent admitted to eating fries, pizza and other kinds of junk food.
For drinks 54 percent consume water, whereas 14 percent consume tea and coffee. Surprisingly, sodas account for less than 10 percent.
