Google Meet Now Allows Over 500 Participants On One Call: Here's How

Google Meet has now extended the number of participants on its platform to a whopping 500, for a video meeting.

Google made this announcement via a blog post. The new inclusion also brings in support to host larger meetings in the form of live streams, that would allow up to 100,000 viewers to watch the stream at once, and this can be enabled without any additional actions required on the end of the admins of the call.
The new extended number of participants, however, comes for a price. The extended participant count is available for only Google Workspace Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus and Education Plus customers.

The feature is not available for Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Enterprise Essentials, Education Fundamentals, Frontline, Nonprofits, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade or GSuite Basic and Business customers.
While announcing the feature, Google said in a statement, "We hope that by increasing the meeting size, it will be easier to connect and collaborate with your colleagues, clients, and customers."
Google Meet faces strong competition with Microsoft¡¯s Teams that currently has a limit of up to 1,000 people to join a video meeting.

Google is leaving no stone unturned to retain and bring new customers to Google Meet. Just last month, it also added a feature that would allow an admin of a call, more control over maintaining decorum on it by allowing them to switch camera and microphones off for select users.

Moreover, A few months ago, it rolled out an automatic light adjustment feature that uses AI to make everyone¡¯s faces look clearer on the call. It also rolled out a feature update that cancels background noises in meetings using AI.
