Help Your Kids Turn Plastic Trash Into Toys, With This Smart Maker Kit For Children
Reduce, reuse, and recycle are the three core ¡®R¡¯s of using plastic stuff. Unfortunately, there are only so many items you can reuse before throwing them in the trash. So one company is trying to improve that, by letting kids reuse trash in new ways.

Meet Toyi, a toy brand out of Turkey that's currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. Toyi doesn't sell toys for your kids per se, instead they sell the tools to let kids make their own. Their kit comes with 64 small parts - connectors, cross joints, wheels, and more - so children can repurpose their trash with just their imagination.
"With Toyi every child is a toy designer," Elif Atmaca, the Turkey-based designer behind the project, says on the Kickstarter page. "A water bottle can turn into a rocket, an old box to a train compartment or a pine cone to a cute monster. Children can design their toys on their own or along with their friends, improve their creativity by making their dream toys come to life with Toyi."
Atmaca says she was inspired by her own childhood, growing up in a poorer area of Turkey where families couldn't afford to buy their children toys. It's also why, for each kit sold on Kickstarter, she intends to donate another through nonprofit charities.
