According to an exclusive Reuters report, the US government is seeking to blacklist the use of Chinese technology and Chinese companies around the world, due to an ongoing trade war between the two countries.
And to that effect, Google has suspended business with Huawei that "requires the transfer of hardware, software and technical services" except publicly available via open source, according a source familiar with the matter, Reuters reported.
What does this mean?
Immediately, Huawei doesn't have access to Google services -- that includes Android, Google Play Store access, app updates, Android updates, and other official Google software access -- on all their smartphones and other technologies.

Should current Huawei smartphone owners be worried? According to a Google spokesperson, Huawei smartphone owners will continue to get access to Google's services and Android apps without any restrictions. So if you have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, you don't have anything to worry about, for instance.
But it is what happens to future Huawei smartphones that's cause for concern for the Chinese giant.
With immediate loss of access to Google¡¯s Android operating system and related services, Huawei's expansion efforts outside China will be significantly affected.

Future Huawei smartphones will have to run on the free and open source version of Android, which won't have access to Google Play Store and popular Google apps like Gmail, YouTube and more.
While this ban is enacted from a US-China perspective, Huawei's global device supply chain is expected to be impacted with these cutting of ties with Google and its licensed services.
