The CPU comes with broad memory support for DDR5, LPDDR5, DDR4, LPDDR4 modules up to 4800MT per second. The CPU also comes with support for Wi-Fi 6E as well as Thunderbolt 4. The CPU will be rolled out in mobile computers starting February 2022.
Intel also unveiled mobile CPUs under the U and P series of processors. The P series processors feature up to14-core and 20-threaded processors along with Intel¡¯s Iris X integrated GPUs and run on 28W base power, crafted for performance thin and light machines. U series processors however operate between 9 to 15W.
12th generation Intel Desktop processors: World¡¯s Best Gaming Processor
Along with the mobile CPUs, Intel has also introduced 12th generation desktop Core processors with 22 different variants ranging from Intel Core i9 to Pentium and Celeron processors.
The top of the line CPU in the series, Core i9 12900 promises to offer 30 percent better daily productivity performance in SysMark 25, over 44 percent better performance in CrossMark and 15 percent better performance compared to AMD Ryzen 7 5700G. In fact, as per the company's claims, even Intel Core i5 12600 performs 19 percent, 30 percent and 9 percent respectively better than the Ryzen CPU.
The new CPUs work with Intel¡¯s newest H670, H610 and B660 chipsets. The chipsets will offer Z-series platform capabilities like PCIe 4.0 lanes, integrated Wi-Fi 6E and Intel Volume Management Device as well as CPU and memory OC support.
