This Company Is Paying ?28,000 For People's Face To Make Creepy Realistic Masks
The project is called ¡®That Face¡¯. The company is creating 3D-printed masks with people¡¯s faces on it and is seeking volunteers to offer their face to be printed on the masks. Each person willing to share his face will get $380 (around Rs 28,000) from the mask making company.
What would it be like if anyone had the option to wear your face, and look like you? No this is not a plot for a science fiction novel, but it's actually what Japan¡¯s Kamenya Omoto is planning on doing.

Kamenya Omoto is planning on selling these masks with people¡¯s faces for $750 (which is approximately Rs 55,000) a pop. As you can see from the images, the mask, even though it comes with only the front half of the face, looks extremely realistic -- although the wearer won¡¯t be able to emote like a real person. It looks super creepy though.
Kamenya Omoto actually makes authentic Japanese masks for theatres depicting characters from Japanese folklore. They said in a statement, "We will buy and sell your faces. A science-fiction story has now become reality. No one yet knows what will happen to a world full of the same faces as you."
As of now, applicants only from Tokyo who are at least 20 years old can apply to have their face on 3D masks. These people will also receive a chunk of the profits if their face becomes a hit among buyers.
While this might sound rather cool and fun, you should also know that people could wear such masks to do bad things. People could literally mask their identities with other people¡¯s faces, and put the ones who have their faces on the mask in trouble. And regardless of the fact that one cannot emote in these, CCTV cameras aren¡¯t clear enough to capture those details, except that the person looked like you. So better have a good explanation to give to the cops.
