We know how tricky it can be to feed young kids a nutritious meal. Their tantrums to eat certain kind of vegetables -- especially the green and leafy kind -- can really take a parent for a spin. However, now a 7-year old has created an app that will help parents track the nutrition in a kid¡¯s lunch box.
Kids don¡¯t understand the importance of proper nutrition and how some food items -- no matter how bad they taste -- can provide the child with vitamins and minerals that their growing body needs. For a child, proper nutrition is crucial for overall development. And many parents don¡¯t realise this. Most of them pack lunches putting in what the kids love eating, regardless of the kind of nutrients it holds.
This is not only leading to spiking cases of obesity, but also resulting in many kids to suffer from nutrient deficiency.

While learning to code, he created an app called ¡®Tiffin Planner¡¯ for helping kids across the country consume nutritious tiffin during their recess. His app motivated not just kids, but also their parents to eat healthier.
The app gives information on the amount of nutrition that needs to be packed in a kid¡¯s tiffin box, along with suggestions to make up for the nutrition intake.
According to Karan Bajaj, founder of WhiteHat Jr, ¡°Kids nowadays have an evolved sense of right and wrong, and they want to contribute in their own way to address issues in our society. Kids as young as 6-year-old can start to learn coding to prepare them for the future and like Siddhant, we are already seeing many young kids creating some extremely creative, high utility digital applications that will make a long-term impact on the world.¡±
Tiffin Planner app is available for free on Google Play Store.
