Meet All-Electric Battista From Mahindra Group, World's Fastest Car At 0-100 Kmph In 2 Seconds
Automobili Pininfarina has officially become the maker of the world&rsquos quickest road car ever produced with the launch of Battista at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The Indian auto giant Mahindra Group that owns the Italian car maker acquired the company back in 2015. The Battista goes 0 to 100 kmph in less than two seconds and can reach a top speed of over 400 kmph.
Think of Italian sports cars, and the names Ferrari or Lamborghini are bound to pop up in your head. Both the companies have made some notoriously fast offerings. But if you think that any of the two came up with the fastest car ever out of Italy, you are wrong.
Automobili Pininfarina, has officially become the maker of the world¡¯s quickest road car ever produced, with the launch of Battista at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. And guess which parent firm acquired Pininfarina back in 2015? The Indian auto giant Mahindra Group.
That¡¯s right! That is also the reason why Anand Mahindra was the one who unveiled the electric hypercar to the world. Ohh, and did we not mention this before? The quickest road car in the world is officially all-electric! The Battista is also the fastest electric car ever produced.

And for all those who doubted the capabilities of an electric motor, the jaw-dropping 1900 brake horse power (bhp) of the Battista is enough to shut them up. To put that into perspective, the Buggati Chiron has less than 1500 hp.
If in case that is not impressive enough, the Battista by Automobili Pininfarina goes 0 to 100 kmph in less than two seconds, 0 to 300 kmph in less than 12 seconds and can reach up to a top speed of more than 400 kmph. The range claimed by the hypercar is equally mind blowing, doing a 450 kms run on a single charge.

Michael Perschke, chief executive - Automobili Pininfarina exclaims that the power "is crazy"! He believes that the more important statement made by the car is that high performance and electric propulsion are not mutually exclusive.
Since Pininfarina was restricted to designing vehicles as an entity of its own, it had a fresh take on the Battista without any limitations around the engine or the drivetrain. The Battista, hence comes with a T-shaped battery along the centre as well as behind the seats. With this allowing the company more room to shape the car and the fact that there were no need for large cooling vents as in the case of IC engines, finally resulted in a car that is both the highest performer and an eye candy.

Now that you know about the insane specs that the Battista boasts of, get this, the maker, that is Automobili Pininfarina is just over a year old company. This means that in a year¡¯s time (or less), the Italian super car maker has managed to challenge the likes of Tesla Roadster and other all-electric supercars.
Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group, said he wants to prove that electric cars can be luxurious, exclusive and collectable, saying "Why is Mahindra betting on the luxury segment? Because there will also be vehicles that people will want to buy because they are objects of desire and passion."
