Lamborghini Has Just Made Its 'Fastest Ever' SUV Even Faster, With The All-New Urus ST-X Concept
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has pepped-up the speed of the Urus even further. The all-new Urus ST-X Concept now comes ready for the race tracks. The SUV is a jaw-dropping 25 percent lighter than the production model.
Lamborghini is on full throttle these days! Not just on the race tracks but also in terms of innovation and production. Remember the Lamborghini Urus, the Italian supercar maker¡¯s first ever SUV offering to the world in the form of Urus, which, it also claimed to be the fastest in its category, with a whopping top speed of 305 km/h?
It seems the claim was not enough for the racing division of the company, the Lamborghini Squadra Corse, which now has pepped-up the speed of the Urus even further. So much so, that the all-new Urus ST-X Concept now comes ready for the race tracks.
Yes, you read that right, an SUV dedicated for a race track performance! All thanks to Squadra Corse, which co-incidentally, had also come up with its first-ever hypercar, the Lamborghini SC18 Alston, just a few days back.

There is a twist here though. To make the Urus faster, Squadra Corse didn¡¯t exactly increase the engine power. Instead, it opted to bring down the weight of the SUV supercar. And more so, in elephantine proportions. The all-new Urus ST-X is a jaw-dropping 25 percent lighter than the production model. This means that the same twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 641 bhp of peak power and 850 Nm of peak torque, will make the SUV go much faster than before.
There are other race-specific modifications too. For instance, the Urus ST-X comes with a carbon fibre hood with larger vents for ample air intake. A massive rear wing has been added along with side racing exhausts with a new hexagonal design. The super SUV now runs on 21-inch single-nut rims in aluminum alloy with Pirelli tires.

The advanced mechanics for track performance include FIA licensed safety elements like a new steel rollcage, fire extinguishing system as well as an FT3 tank. Lamborghini plans to debut the new Urus ST-X concept in 2020 in Europe and the Middle East, for single-brand championship, a mix of track and off-road racing.
