Nokia Unveils Classic 5310 XpressMusic Phone In A New Avatar, Now Available In India
This series truly revolutionised the music listening experience for many, with Play/Pause buttons to control audio playback and some phones even featuring flashing lights on the edge that would blink to the rhythm being played. And now, Nokia has resurrected this by bringing back the most iconic XpressMusic phone -- the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic.
When we think of classic Nokia phones, apart from the N series or the E series the one that many people owned and fell in love with was the XpressMusic series.
Loud stereo speakers
The device is a feature phone and while it might not possess the bells and whistles like the current-age flagship devices, the feature phone still retains the XpressMusic DNA with a fairly loud pair of stereo speakers (also includes support for FM radio) to make Music lovers fall in love with it.
Display and keyboard
The device features a tiny 2.4-inch QVGA display enclosed in a polycarbonate body, along with a classic T9 keyboard. The device has volume rockers and music playback buttons, just like its predecessor.
Hardware and performance
Taking a peek under the hood, the 2020 5310 XpressMusic is powered by a modest MT6260A MediaTek chipset paired with 8MB of RAM. Also, you¡¯ll need to add a microSD card to the device as the internal memory is bare minimum. You can expand it up to 32GB.
Camera
This camera isn't loaded with the best of the best. We're seeing a VGA camera at the back with an LED flash, but you shouldn't hope a lot from this small shooter.
Running on Nokia Series 30+ OS
One thing that would disappoint many is with the choice of OS for the device. Instead of KaiOS that we saw on the Banana Phone (which was based on Firefox) that had support for WhatsApp and some smart apps, this one is running on Nokia Series 30+ OS, which is fine for a feature phone, but not as good as KaiOS.
Powering the phone is a minimal 1200mAh battery which surely might seem too tiny by today¡¯s standards, but HMD claims will give the single SIM version up to 30 days of standby time.
Pricing and availability
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is priced at s 3,399 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The device is perfect for a backup phone that won¡¯t take up much space and won¡¯t require charging it every now and then.
