Rolls Royce ¡®Spirit of Innovation¡¯: World¡¯s Fastest Electric Vehicle At 623 Kmph
Test pilot and Rolls-Royce Director of Flight Operations Phill O¡¯Dell was over 213.04 kilometres per hour faster than the previous record set by Siemens eAircraft Extra 330 LE Aerobatic aircraft in 2017.
We¡¯ve seen several electric cars that can travel at blazingly fast speeds however, now, an electric aircraft has broken the record for the world¡¯s fastest electric vehicle as well as the record for the world¡¯s fastest electric aircraft.

The aircraft was the Rolls Royce ¡®Spirit of Innovation¡¯ which flew at a top speed of 623 kilometres per hour. The record was verified by the F¨¦d¨¦ration A¨¦ronautique Internationale (FAI) - the World Air Sports Federation.
The aircraft was part of the ACCEL -- Accelerating the Electrification of Flight -- project funded by Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) in collaboration with the Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy as well as Innovate UK.
Powering the aircraft was a 400 kW (over 500 horsepower) electric powertrain, along with a state-of-the-art dense propulsion battery back -- the densest ever to be assembled in aviation history by Electroflight and automotive powertrain supplier YASA.
