IIT Bombay's E-Summit Will Empower Indian Startups, With A Chance To Win Rs 16 Lakh In 10 Mins
IIT Bombay plans to provide a stage to the top startups of India to accelerate this process at its upcoming E-Summit. The annual summit of the educational institution will be a unique take on establishing a connection between startups and their corporate counterparts. In one part of the summit a total of ten minutes will decide which of the top ten startups will have a bright future with a financial backing of Rs 16 lakh on the line.
Indian startup ecosystem is going from strength to strength. With two to three technology-led startups being born every day, a key driver for the noted startup growth is the corporate connections that they garner over time.
It's with this purpose that the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay plans to provide a stage to the top startups of India to accelerate this process at its upcoming E-Summit.
The annual summit of the educational institution, E-Summit will be a unique take on establishing a connection between startups and their corporate counterparts. In one part of the summit, a total of ten minutes will decide which of the top ten startups of India will have a bright future, with a financial backing of Rs 16 lakh on the line. Of course, this is the minimum amount that these startups will be taking home.
The Ten Minute Million
This segment of the E-Summit is called ¡®The Ten Minute Million (TTMM)¡¯, a game show that will let the ten startups place their pitch in front of 12 of India's best angel investors. If the investors are impressed, Rs 16 lakh will be up for grabs right at the spot!
Conducted by the Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Bombay, the TTMM game show will be only one of the events scheduled for the E-Summit.

But what about the startups that have already received their seed funding? Another event by the name of ¡®SeedStars¡¯ that will seed-funded startups pitching their ideas to investors in a chance to raise their first significant venture capital funding. Scaling up a startup has never sounded so easy.
The two events are just a part of a plethora of activities to be held at the E-Summit. Designed with a passion to boost the Indian startup ecosystem, the E-Summit will act as a conclave for an exchange of ideas between entrepreneurs from across the world and the budding entrepreneurs of India. Lecture series, panel discussions as well as networking opportunities with the big shots of the entrepreneurial world, E-Summit will see it all.
In Attendance
That brings us to the question, who are these ¡°big shots¡± who will be in attendance? Looking at the past iterations of the E-Summit, top entrepreneurs like Uber CEO - Travis Kalanick, Former Chairman of SBI - Arundhati Bhattacharya, Niranjan Hiranandani - patriarch of the Hiranandani clan, VP of Netflix - Michael Spiegelman, India TV Chairman - Rajat Sharma have graced the event earlier.
This year, the speakers list for the E-Summit includes Wipro Chairman - Rishad Premji, Filmmaker & producer - Anurag Kashyap, India Head of Twitter - Manish Maheshwari and Director YouTube Content Partnerships - Satya Raghavan as well as IIT-Bombay alumni and CEO of Chaayos - Nitin Saluja. Apart from this list of speakers, several entrepreneurs will be in attendance, like the CEOs of Snapdeal, Jabong, Gaana and others.

Other Activities
Several other activities will ensure that each part of the Indian startup ecosystem gets adequate attention. In the world of social media & digital media marketing, for instance, a Content Creation Conclave will see the likes of PUBG stars Dynamo & Krotov, founders of The Frustrated Engineers, Terribly Dank Tales and RVCJ sharing their experience with social media as a medium to influence the youth.
An RnD Conclave will focus on the commercialisation of research and explaining how RnD drives the transformation and growth of large companies. In attendance would be Prof. Sebastian Peter, Co-Founder, Breathed Applied Sciences & Prof. Ramakrishnan Angarai, Co-Founder, RaGaVeRa Indic Technologies to demonstrate their research.
A Start-up Expo will see start-ups showcase their products and services and connect with customers, industries, professionals, businessmen and investors while getting 360-degree feedback. In addition, an Internship and Job Fair at the E-Summit will connect startup enthusiast graduates and undergraduates with the appropriate startups in their respective field.
To top it all off, interesting workshops and challenging hackathons will also be conducted at the E-Summit. Scheduled for the first weekend of February, i.e.,February 1 and 2, it is easy to see how the IIT Bombay E-Summit is the place to be for anyone with entrepreneurial blood in their veins.
