Apple's promise
On Twitter, Apple CEO Tim Cook expressed his concern for the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, adding that Apple is "doing all we can for our teams there."
I am deeply concerned with the situation in Ukraine. We¡¯re doing all we can for our teams there and will be supporting local humanitarian efforts. I am thinking of the people who are right now in harm¡¯s way and joining all those calling for peace.

Cook added that he will be supporting "local humanitarian efforts" while pledging to join "all those calling for peace." Apple does not have any official stories in Ukraine, but the company works with authorised resellers inside the country.
Twitter to stop advertising
Twitter is also attempting to prevent misuse of its platform during the crisis. The company has stopped advertising in Ukraine and Russia, in hopes of amplifying public safety information, AFP reported.

In addition, Twitter will now not show tweet recommendations in Ukraine and Russia. These recommendations appear in users' timelines from accounts they don't already follow. Twitter hopes this move would help limit the spread of misleading and abusive content.
Facebook's refusal to bow to Russia
Meta Platforms Inc. - the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp also refused to comply with Russia's requests to stop fact-checking local news outlets. As a result of this, the company's services have been partially restricted in the country.

Twitter and Facebook may serve as channels to spread helpful information during the crisis, but also may be used by state actors to spread misinformation.
