According to sources that spoke to Android Police, Samsung isn't just stripping the 3.5mm headphone jack from the new smartphone, it's also getting rid of all the physical buttons. That means no power button , Bixby key, or volume rockers.
The thing is, Samsung is one of the few smartphones brands that have till date maintained the headphone jack, something power-users have appreciated. The removal of it is sure to piss off a bunch of people, but at least using a Bluetooth headset isn't that bad.
The buttons however are a different story. Instead of physical buttons, Samsung will reportedly have the power, volume, and (possibly) Bixby keys replaced by "capacitive or pressure-sensitive areas" on the body. These don't mean the virtual buttons will be on your display, rather think of it like tiny raised touchpads on the spine of the device.
Of course, this is still just one source, so it's possible there's been a mix-up and this isn't the case at all. Then again, we'll be able to find out soon enough.
