Twitter Laid Off Dozens Of Its Staff From The Global Content Moderation Team
This recent layoff was also confirmed by Ella Irwin, Twitter¡¯s head of trust and safety, who also disputed that the teams were impacted by the cuts. In a conversation with Bloomberg, she stated that it made ¡°more sense¡± to ¡°consolidate teams under one leader¡±.
Twitter has gone ahead and laid off more of its workforce, this time at least a dozen workers across its offices in Dublin and Singapore last week, reveals a Bloomberg report.
Among the people who were laid off were those mainly responsible for handling the company¡¯s misinformation policy as well as some with the platform¡¯s global appeals process and state media program. Also among them was Analuisa Dominguez, Twitter¡¯s former senior director of revenue policy.
She added that the company wasn¡¯t seeing enough ¡®volume¡¯ to justify how much they were spending on acquiring new individuals and retaining old ones.
Irwin also stated that the company has increased staffing at the appeals department and will still have a head of revenue policy.
This comes after the 21st November all-hands meeting where Musk had stated that Twitter won¡¯t fire or lay off any more workers.
Even though the extent of the layoffs that followed hasn¡¯t been similar to the initial layoffs that occurred when Musk took the reins of the company, Musk¡¯s pledge was broken. Just last month, Twitter let go a section of its infrastructure division halfway.
