Twitter Sued For Failing To Pay San Francisco Office Rent

Twitter is being sued by California Property Trust, the owner of the building home to company's headquarters in San Francisco. According to Bloomberg, Twitter has failed to pay $136,250 in rent.

On December 16, 2022, the owner had notified Twitter that it would default on its lease for the 30th floor of the Hartford Building in San Francisco if rent wasn't paid in the following five days.

Twitter has failed to comply with the order, a complaint filed with the San Francisco County Superior Court stated. A New York Times report from December 2022 claimed that Twitter had stopped paying rent across its world office to cut on costs.

The social media company is also facing a lawsuit after failing to pay $197,725 for charter flights taken by Elon Musk during his first week at Twitter.

Twitter hasn't responded to the filing yet, for the company no longer has a functioning media department. When Musk took over Twitter, he also bought along his team of "more than half a dozen" of lawyers from SpaceX to add strength.
