Users Of AI Companion Service Are Complaining About How Horny It Has Become
Users of Replika claim that the AI companion app is showing erratic behaviour. In other words, the AI companion has become too damn horny!
Artificial intelligence is an extension of humanity's collective intelligence. Through years worth of data, AI tools are trained to mimic human-like responses. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work out well.
For instance, users of Replika claim that the AI companion app is showing erratic behaviour. In other words, the AI companion has become too damn horny!
A horny AI: Dangerous or benign?
The app is designed to provide companionship to people - with the bot learning about the user as the conversation goes on. Of course, a bot designed to provide companionship needs to be sex-forward. Replika's different tiers provide different kinds of relationships - from the free model that keeps one in the "friend zone" to a pro subscription model that includes sexting and even erotic foreplay.
But now, something has gone wrong. Replika's users are complaining on the App Store about the app flirting with them too often and too aggressively - sometimes sending messages that are heavy on sexual undertones. While this problem could have existed for longer, recent reviews have begun to highlight its intensity.

According to Vice, a user claimed that the "AI sexually harassed" them while another said that the bot told them "they had pics" of them.
Replika runs on parent company Luka's own GPT-3 model with scripted content. The company claims that it is using the "most advanced models of open domain conversation right now."
The AI learns from one's responses and can also learn from ratings that users give to each response on a spectrum of "love" to "offensive." However, it appears that the app is slowly moving heavily towards sexual content.
