This could also allow users to share images with better image quality and minimal compressions -- something today¡¯s WhatsApp fails miserably at. With cameras getting better and data speeds getting faster, this could be a much-needed inclusion.

Reported by famous WhatsApp features tipster WABetaInfo, as of now, users can only send files up to 100MB, which can make it inconvenient for those with larger file sizes. The feature has been spotted on a handful of beta testers from Argentina.
The update was spotted on beta versions 2.22.8.5. And 2.22.8.7 on Android and 22.7.0.76 on iOS. As it¡¯s still in beta testing, chances are not many might receive access to this feature as of now.
The feature will undoubtedly be useful for the users of the texting app, however, it won¡¯t make WhatsApp first in line to do so. Telegram has allowed sharing of files of up to 1.5GB. If WhatsApp does bring the feature to more users, it would set a new precedent, becoming the first messaging app to send up to 2GB of data.

Although take the chance of this feature coming anytime soon with a pinch of salt as the feature is being tested only with a small group of testers. WhatsApp could also decide to roll back the limits if it liked.
