YouTube Now Lets You Skip Boring Parts Of Any Video With 'Most Replayed' Feature
YouTube wants everyone to be able to skip mindless details, especially if you spend a lot of time watching podcasts on YouTube
YouTubers, listen up! Google-owned YouTube will now display the "most replayed" parts of any clip on its web player and on mobile apps. This means that you can now skip objectively boring parts of any video simply based on what other users are watching.
Earlier, the feature was available to YouTube Premium users. Now, YouTube wants everyone to be able to skip mindless details, especially if you spend a lot of time watching podcasts on YouTube.
How will YouTube display 'most replayed' parts?
Using a graph that appears behind the progress bar, YouTube will display the most popular parts of any video, as reported by The Verge. "If the graph is high, then that part of the video has been replayed often. You can use the graph to quickly find and watch those moments," YouTube said.
The graph will be visible as you scrub through the progress bar. If it's high up, it means that part of the video has been replayed often. A thumbnail will also appear when you're watching the "most replayed" parts of any video.

Are people no longer watching long-form content that made YouTube what it is today? Or is this a strategy to keep up with the Tik Tokification of digital spaces whereby users prefer shorter, straightforward clips.
Creators could feel the pressure of this move, for now they'd be expected to streamline content in order to give people what they want. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how YouTube's latest experiment will work out.
YouTube's new features
YouTube rolled out the feature with numerous updates aimed at making longer videos more consumable by making them shorter. YouTube allows creators to break videos into chapter-like chunks, and soon it'll also let users skip to the exact moment that they want to watch, while it's unclear how.

Another feature called "Single Loop" is being rolled out by YouTube. This essentially allows users to put individual videos on repeat... endlessly. This feature may be accessed from the menu that lets users adjust the video quality on YouTube.
