The brand has shared a brief teaser video on social media that offers us a first glimpse at the phone's rear panel ahead of its formal launch. The device's new texture and design material are hinted at in the teaser.
There are a few minor but visible design changes, even if the overall form and arrangement seem to be comparable to the CMF Phone 1 from the previous year. A noticeable screw on the back panel is one important detail shown in the video, which could indicate that the next phone would once more enable detachable back covers.
CMF by Nothing has advertised the teaser using the term "new finish," implying that the next gadget would have new materials or surface treatment to make it look more upscale or distinctive.
The back panel is shown in a close-up in the teaser video, which was posted on the official CMF by Nothing account on X (previously Twitter). It has a new texture that appears a tad more sophisticated than the previous model, and it has a speaker grille at the bottom. The entire design appears to fit CMF's signature minimalist, clean aesthetic, and the branding is easily recognizable.
Although there isn't much else seen in the brief six-second video, the screw's presence clearly indicates that the removable panel feature is here to stay. This design decision allows users greater customization options.
