The tech giant announced the addition of new AI functions to its mid-range smartphones in a press post. There are no generative features like Writing Assist, Note Assist, Browsing Assist, or Drawing Assist available; instead, the AI capabilities accessible through the Awesome Intelligence menu are either camera-centric or utility-focused.
Samsung probably intends to save the best AI functions for its flagship tier, even if the firm made no mention of them. It's unclear if Awesome Intelligence's AI functions are entirely on-device or if part of them are server-based. These capabilities aren't yet available on the company's older A series smartphones, though.
The Awesome Intelligence suite currently includes AI Select, Samsung's tool that provides contextual suggestions based on on-screen information across text, photos, and videos, as well as Google's Circle to Search and its new music identification capability. Additionally being added is Read Aloud, a text-to-speech (TTS) function that lets visitors hear any web page.
Additionally, the suite now includes several camera-focused features. Users of the Galaxy A series will receive the Object Eraser tool, which can eliminate undesired things from photographs, and Edit Suggestions, which analyzes the image automatically and provides one-tap effects like background blur and reflection removal.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy A56 will gain a few unique AI functions. It has the Best Face feature, which lets users choose the best individual faces from several pictures to determine the greatest facial expressions of people in group photos. The phone also comes with the Auto Trim feature, which combines several videos to create the greatest moments.
