COVID-19 Pandemic Could End In Many Countries By 2021, Says Bill Gates
Bill Gates thinks that we would see the end of COVID-19 as soon as next year.
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic has locked us all into our homes, we¡¯ve been dreaming of a day when everything will go back to normal and we¡¯ll finally get to step out without worrying about face masks and hand sanitizers and the constant fear of contracting the novel coronavirus.
And Bill Gates thinks that time will come very soon, and we'll see the end of COVID-19 pandemic as soon as next year in 2021.
He revealed this in a recent interview with Wired, where he answered numerous questions surrounding COVID-19, and one of the questions was whether he¡¯s feeling optimistic for now, to which he agreed, talking about how this led to a massive push in innovation, stating, ¡°Yes. You have to admit there¡¯s been trillions of dollars of economic damage done and a lot of debts, but the innovation pipeline on scaling up diagnostics, on new therapeutics, on vaccines is actually quite impressive.¡±
Bill Gates further stated what he feels could be the timeline for COVID-19 to slowly phase out from our lives, stating, ¡°And that makes me feel like, for the rich world, we should largely be able to end this thing by the end of 2021, and for the world at large by the end of 2022. That is only because of the scale of the innovation that¡¯s taking place.¡±
He did, however, mention that this will come with catastrophic damage to economies around the world, stating, ¡°Now whenever we get this done, we will have lost many years in malaria and polio and HIV and the indebtedness of countries of all sizes and instability. It¡¯ll take you years beyond that before you¡¯d even get back to where you were at the start of 2020. It¡¯s not World War I or World War II, but it is in that order of magnitude as a negative shock to the system.¡±

Gates has been contributing a lot to ending the COVID-19 pandemic, since day one. Whether it is providing test kits to the people of Washington DC or transporting 15,000 medicinal molecules to be shipped to a lab in Belgium to test a potential cure to the novel coronavirus, he has left no stone unturned.
Just last week, he announced that he will be paying $150 million to Serum Institute India to manufacture 100 million COVID-19 vaccines and bring the cost down (when they¡¯re clear for public use) to just $3 for developing nations to take control of the novel coronavirus.
