Guy Captured 'Rain Of Fire' In Sun's Atmosphere From His Backyard, 150 Million Km Away

And this is how a budding astronomer was able to capture a rare phenomenon while looking at sun¡¯s atmosphere using a solar telescope in his backyard, 150.49 million kilometres away, no kidding.
Reddit user @thevastreaches shared a small video of what actually is called as a coronal rain, in the sun¡¯s atmosphere. No, coronal rain has nothing to do with coronavirus or COVID-19.

As per NASA, Magnetic fields are invisible, but the charged plasma is forced to move along the lines, showing up brightly in the extreme ultraviolet wavelength of 304 Angstroms, and outlining the fields as it slowly falls back to the solar surface.
In the image, you can see the sun looks black with a tangerine exterior along with minute explosions that are occurring on its surface. We know that the sun isn¡¯t black, however, @thevastreaches has clarified on the Reddit post, stating, ¡°For those wondering why the sun is dark... this rain feature is extremely delicate and faint. To capture it, the sun needs to be overexposed and pure white. By blacking it out in post-processing, it helps the eye see the faint contrast in the structure. Otherwise, the white blob is very distracting.¡±
The image looks like a rain of fire on the surface that¡¯s both scary and breathtaking at the same time. @thevastreaches explained, ¡°This is actually a look at million-degree plasma RAINING back down to the surface. I blacked out the disk of the sun to allow the eyes to focus on the delicate details."
He further stated, ¡°The Sun¡¯s outer halo, the corona, can reach these astounding temperatures of over one million degrees. Elements in this zone act as a plasma. Plasma is electrically charged and can become trapped in magnetic structures extending out into space. As it cools and condenses, it can fall back to the Sun along magnetic field lines ... looking a lot like the water rain we know.¡±
