Watch Hiker Survive Puma Attack, After He Got Too Close To Her Cubs
In several instances, the cougar is seen growling and pouncing aggressively, as the man behind the camera continues to shoo-off the big cat.
Nature is beautiful, however, if you mess with it, it can turn into the most dangerous thing. And this recent incident shows us just that.
This man, who goes by the name of @Kunkyle, has shown us that you shouldn¡¯t mess with nature or the natural habitat of animals, or the repercussions could be dire.

In his video, he is seen trekking through a mountain path, where he suddenly stumbles across cute cougar cubs. He tries to go close to the cubs to see them but within moments he realises that it could be the last mistake he ever made. Moments later he¡¯s seen shouting and screaming as if he¡¯s seen a ghost.
Seconds later the camera is pointed at a larger cougar which is seen sprinting towards the camera guy as he is screaming and throwing curse words as he is running backwards. The cougar is seen to be slowing down then charging straight while growling as @kunkyle continues to shout.

After walking for a while, the cameraman bends down, which probably looks like he¡¯s trying to grab a rock to scare the cat. The cougar instantly runs away, and @kunkyle then takes a sigh of relief.
What are cougars exactly?
Cougars are often referred to as mountain lions, panthers and pumas. They¡¯re found in the American subcontinent, from Canada to South America. It is known to be the second-largest cat in the world after jaguars.
According to San Diego Zoo, they¡¯re often known to be secretive and stay secluded. Moreover, they¡¯re known to only come out at night to hunt for their prey, which is surprising, considering this video has been shot when the sun is up.

They¡¯re agile hunters with a powerful build possessing large paws and sharp claws. They possess large, muscular hind legs compared to their front legs that give them the ability to jump higher -- in fact they can jump as high as 5.5 meters. They can run fast and have a flexible spine like a cheetah¡¯s to help them take sharp turns while attacking the prey.

On Twitter, Yashar Ali tries to highlight the video to share some of his experiences on what the hiker did right and what he could've done better, when he came face-to-face with the cougar / mountain lion / puma trying to protect her cubs.
He comments how the hiker got two things right when faced with a wild cat in the outdoors, that he didn't turn his back on the cougar and he kept walking backwards while facing the mountain lion, while trying to increase the distance between the two.
