NASA Astronaut Shares Amazing Pics Of Boundary Between Night And Day On Earth
What an amazingly beautiful planet we have the pleasure to call our home, isn't it?
We all know that the Earth rotates on its axis to observe night and day simultaneously on its opposite faces.
The one limitation of the homo sapiens, irrespective of their location on Earth, is that they can only observe one of these events from their viewpoint at any given moment in time.
The same, however, does not apply to astronauts in the International Space Station.
Proving this, NASA astronaut Robert Behnken shared stunning pictures of the boundary between night and day on Earth. Behnken shared the images through his tweet on Monday, as he himself observed the ecstatic scenario from space.
Though it is easy to fathom why humans on Earth will never have a chance to witness such a site firsthand, a look at the stunning images will definitely spark the curiosity to do so in anyone. Lucky for us, Behnken decided to share his outworldly experience with all of us on Earth.
Sharing two pictures on Twitter on Monday, Behnken wrote, ¡±My favorite views of our planet that capture the boundary between night and day¡±.
In the pictures, one part of the Earth can be seen covered in darkness, while the other part is in light, creating a stunning spectacle on the Earth¡¯s horizon.
Since the post, the tweets have got more than fifty thousand likes and close to ten thousand retweets. The Twitterati has been visibly going gaga over the images.
Bob Behnken was a part of SpaceX¡¯s historic launch of the Crew Dragon capsule that took off for the International Space Station earlier this month and brought back the much awaited space flights to the American soil.
NASA recently also revealed how such sunsets look on other planets in the solar system. Through a simulation, the video showed how different atmospheres on the various celestial bodies around us resulted in a breathtaking range of sunsets from planet to planet.
