UP: Tiger That Escaped From Pilibhit Reserve Found Resting On Compound Wall In Village
A tiger emerged from the jungle and perched itself on the wall of a farmer's house in Atakona village. The entire incident has gone viral on social media through a video.
In the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, there is a prevailing terror of tigers. People residing in several villages of Kalinagar Tehsil live in fear of the big cat.
What happened in Atkona Village?
Last night, a tiger emerged from the jungle and perched itself on the wall of a farmer's house in Atakona village, as per various reports. The tiger has been stationed on the wall for several hours now.
A video of the incident has gone viral.
When did the incident occur?
This incident is reported to have occurred in the Atakona village of Kalinagar Tehsil. Around 2:00 am last night, a tiger arrived at the house of farmer Sindhu Singh.
The tiger settled itself on the wall of the house. Upon hearing the sounds of stray dogs nearby, when people woke up and looked around with torchlight, they were astounded to see the tiger.
Why did the villagers gather around the tiger?
To catch a glimpse of the tiger in the village, a large crowd of villagers gathered in the middle of the night. Despite their attempts to spot the tiger with torchlight, the tiger did not descend from the wall, claim reports.
Residents of Atkona, Uttar Pradesh, flocked in large numbers to the village to see a solitary wild tiger that had strayed from the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. The area is in the Pilibhit district, roughly 20 km from the tiger reserve.
A large group of bystanders from surrounding towns were seen watching and trying to record the enormous cat as it sat on a stone wall in a now-viral video.
How did the authorities react to this incident?
The situation where a tiger has come close to the villagers in the village of Atkona has been observed earlier also. The responsibility of this incident involving a potential conflict between humans and a wild animal, identified as a potentially aggressive tiger, at a distance of 5 feet from the villagers, rests on the villagers.
As per reports, the Forest Department officials have said that a team has been deployed for monitoring at the site.
