BLACKPINK's Spotify account and those of its three members were hacked on April 24, 2025, with offensive edits referencing a resurfaced racism controversy. The hack follows leaked pre-debut videos showing Jennie, Lisa, and Ros¨¦ allegedly using racial slurs, sparking major backlash.

There¡¯s rarely a dull moment in BLACKPINK¡¯s world. On Thursday, the K-pop powerhouse¡ªJennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Ros¨¦¡ªhad their official Spotify account, which boasts almost 16 million monthly listeners, compromised by a hacker. Fans quickly noticed the breach after changes were made to the account¡¯s handle, seemingly referencing a recent controversy. The issue stems from resurfaced pre-debut videos allegedly leaked by an internet user known as ¡°YG Leaker,¡± in which three of the four members were seen using racially insensitive language.
BLACKPINK's Spotify account hacked!
On April 24, 2025, BLACKPINK's official Spotify account was reportedly hacked, leading to significant disruptions and backlash from fans. The group's profile, which typically features their group photo and music, began displaying images of another K-pop group, KISS OF LIFE, along with references to a recent controversy involving that group and the use of racial slurs. Notably, the image used during the hack was tied to KISS OF LIFE's recent cultural appropriation controversy, which surfaced following member Julie¡¯s birthday celebration.

Changes that were made during the hack
Additionally, BLACKPINK's profile was renamed 'Ni**apink,' taking a dig at their recent controversy where Jennie, Lisa, and Ros¨¦ were using the N-word during their pre-debut days. Furthermore, the profile description was altered to include mentions of old pre-debut videos of BLACKPINK members. The description of the profile read, "Ni**a queen except Jisoo slay."
That¡¯s not all¡ªthe hack extended beyond BLACKPINK¡¯s main account. Individual profiles of Jennie, Ros¨¦, Jisoo, and Lisa were also affected, along with other YG Entertainment acts like TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. The widespread breach quickly fueled speculation that the incident might be linked to the recent wave of leaks targeting YG Entertainment. As of now, the label has yet to respond or release an official statement regarding the hack.

The clips, reportedly dating back to their trainee days, prompted widespread criticism not just toward the members involved, but also toward YG Entertainment¡¯s handling of artist training and education.
