BTS V's 2nd Corps military unit to undergo 10-day extreme cold weather training; ARMYs send well wishes for Kim Taehyung
BTS member V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, is schedule to join his 2nd Corps for extreme cold weather training from January 6 to January 17. As V prepares to face these challenging conditions, ARMYs around the world are sending him their well wishes and support.
BTS fans are getting a bit worried about V, aka Taehyung, as he's about to undergo extreme cold weather training with his 2nd Division Military Police Corps. from the 6th to the 17th of January. Taehyung began his military service in December 2023, along with band member RM. The singer has been serving as a member of the Special Task Force (SDT).
BTS' V to undergo extreme cold weather training
On January 2, 2024, South Korean media agency Yonhap News reported BTS member V's military unit 2nd Corps is gearing up for some intense training, starting January 6. They'll be undergoing 10-day-long extreme cold weather training in Chuncheon, Hwacheon, and Hongcheon, where temperatures can drop to as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.
This training is crucial for establishing combat readiness in harsh conditions, and the unit will also be preparing for potential accidents and damages during this period, the report added.

When will BTS' V complete his mandatory military service?
Kim Taehyung, also known as V, began his mandatory military service on December 12, 2023, alongside BTS leader RM. Following his basic training at the Nonsan Training Center, he received additional training for a specialised role. Currently, he is part of the Special Military Police Force, which operates under the 2nd Army Corps headquarters located in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province.
He will be discharged from the military on June 10, 2025, along with RM, as they both enlisted in December 2023. The other members, including Jimin and Jungkook, will also be discharged in June, having enlisted a day prior to V and RM.
2025 is poised to be a special year for BTS ARMY as all seven members will be reunited after completing their mandatory military service. The group has been on hiatus since 2022.
