Shikhar Dhawan's praise for Rohit Sharma
Former Indian opener and Champions Trophy legend Shikhar Dhawan, who was present at the venue and even joined the commentary panel praised his opening partner Rohit Sharma. When the 'Hitman' smashed a boundary, Dhawan used a famous phrase to compare him to a diamond saying, "Kisi ke naak me heera, kisi ke kaan me heera. Mujhe heero se matlab kya, mera to yaar hi hain Heera."

Rohit Sharma's return to form
The Indian skipper's form had been under scrutiny before the Champions Trophy. It was due to his lackluster performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. However, he silenced critics with a stellar century in the second ODI against England. At Cuttack's Barabati Stadium, he powered his way to a century off just 76 balls, scoring 119 off 90 deliveries, including 12 fours and seven sixes, leading India to chase 305 with 33 balls to spare.
Despite struggling during the Australian tour, where he only reached double digits once, Rohit found his rhythm against England. His resurgence provided India with much-needed confidence heading into the Champions Trophy.
