CSK's fortress breached again: DC end 15-year losing streak at Chepauk; win by 25 runs
DC have finally ended their Chepauk curse, securing their first win at the venue against CSK since IPL 2010. Under Axar Patel's captaincy, DC clinched a 25-run victory, snapping a 14-year losing streak in Chennai.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were once a dominant force at their home ground in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the 2025 season hasn¡¯t gone their way so far. After Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ¡ª who hadn't beaten CSK at this venue since IPL 2008 ¡ª ended their drought last week, Delhi Capitals (DC) have now broken their own Chepauk jinx as well, claiming their first win here since IPL 2010.
Led by Axar Patel, DC defeated CSK by 25 runs and broken their 15-year losing streak. They have also climbed to the top of the points table with three wins in as many matches. CSK, meanwhile, have now suffered three consecutive losses after winning their opening game and sit on the 8th spot.

About CSK vs DC
The Capitals delivered a brilliant all-round performance. After opting to bat, they suffered an early blow with Jake Fraser-McGurk dismissed for a five-ball duck in the opening over. However, they quickly turned things around. Despite not having Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul, who opened the innings, played a masterful knock of 77 off 51. He was well supported by valuable contributions from Abishek Porel (33 off 20), Axar Patel (21 off 14), Sameer Rizvi (20 off 15), and Tristan Stubbs (24 off 12). DC managed to post a competitive 183 ¡ª a total that CSK has not managed to chase so far.

Chasing 184, CSK endured another poor start despite bringing in Devon Conway (13 off 14) to strengthen the top order. Rachin Ravindra (3) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (5) fell early, leaving the hosts struggling in the powerplay. Shivam Dube (18) hit the first six in the 10th over but was dismissed immediately after. Vijay Shankar, dropped four times, top-scored with an unbeaten 69, while MS Dhoni came in as early as the 11th over and made a cautious 30* off 36. Their partnership only narrowed the margin of defeat, never threatening DC¡¯s total.
