Kim Soo Hyun's fan community takes action against malicious rumours
This isn¡¯t the first time fans have rallied behind Kim Soo Hyun in the face of public backlash. On April 22, the Kim Soo Hyun Fan Union, including Daum Cafe Eucharis and DC Inside¡¯s Kim Soo Hyun Gallery, announced plans to pursue legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content online.
According to a report by Allkpop, the fan union issued a formal statement highlighting the persistent spread of harmful rumors about the actor on social media and online forums. ¡°There has been an ongoing spread of malicious rumors and defamation targeting Kim Soo Hyun by individuals unrelated to him,¡± the statement read. ¡°We are currently pursuing a criminal complaint.¡±
Attorney Yang Tae-Young, representing the fan union, confirmed that the group will file the complaint with the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station later this week. The charges will include defamation under South Korea¡¯s Information and Communications Network Act.
Gold Medalist files legal complaint against trolls
In an official statement released on April 15, Kim Soo Hyun¡¯s agency, Gold Medalist, confirmed that it has filed a formal legal complaint in response to the growing wave of online defamation targeting the actor. The complaint cites violations under South Korea¡¯s Information and Communication Network Act as well as the Criminal Act.
