Ed Sheeran's impromptu gig on Bengaluru's Church Street cut short by police, stumped fans can't 'believe this happened'

British singer Ed Sheeran's India tour took an unexpected turn when the Bengaluru Police reportedly stopped his impromptu performance on Church Street in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The shocking video is doing rounds on social media, where the singer, who has been exploring India between concerts, decided to surprise his fans by setting up an impromptu performance on Bengaluru Street, but suddenly the performance was cut short by the police officials present there.

Unfortunately, the short, sweet moment for fans unexpectedly turned into an embarrassment for Ed Sheeran, as cops stepped in between the performance.

Ed Sheeran was singing his song 'Shape of You'

In the viral video, the singer is seen wearing a casual white t-shirt and green shorts and holding his guitar in his arms. The singer was about to perform his global hit 'Shape of You' when the authorities stepped in and unplugged the PA system.

However, his other team members are seen insisting to the police officials that they had been granted permission for the brief street performance; despite this, the officials denied it and asked them to shut down the show.

Abrupt police interruption leaves fans in shock

As soon as the 1.5-minute clip surfaced on the internet, the abrupt action of the police left the fans in shock. One wrote, 'Can't believe this!'

Netizens immediately started sharing the video with a caption including, ¡°Just saw Ed Sheeran on Church Street. He sang his song, but the police stopped him in the middle."

On the other hand, some also joked about saying, "Good, just because he is gora and Ed Sheeran, he is not above the law of land."
