A video of the incident was tweeted by Indian Forest Service officer Ramesh Pandey with the caption, 'Forest staffs and field researchers in Rajula, Greater Gir (Gujrat) heard a roar and found a lion cub trapped in net. Lioness with other cubs was sitting nearby. To avoid strangulation of cub they put their lives at risk and freed the cub. Salute to our green guards.'

The lion cub got trapped in a net and the forest guards wasted no time in reaching the spot to rescue it.
Apparently, the group of guards and field researchers were working in the forest when they heard a lion cub roaring. When they rushed to the spot, they found him struggling for life as he was trapped in a net.
They lifted the net with the help of a rod and eventually rescued the cub.
The video of the rescue has gone viral on the microblogging website with almost 10,000 views, 1100 likes and a couple hundred retweets. Netizens took to the comments section to praise the forest guards for doing their job and placing themselves in harm's way while doing so.
Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda also commented on the post and wrote, 'Putting ones life to risk in saving the wild at risk. Salutations to our green soldiers.'
