Earlier in June, a wildlife photographer photographed a rare white hog deer in the Burapahar Range after a few locals of that area notified the photographer about the whereabouts of the rare animal, The Sentinel Assam reported.
According to Ramesh Gogoi, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Kaziranga National Park (KNP), the particular white deer was seen for the first time, and that it periodically comes out of the park to feed with other brown deer.
One or two such rare white hog deer can be spotted among the 40,000 hog deer in Kaziranga, Gogoi had said at that time.
The Kaziranga National Park is home to a variety of wild animal species. Among the diverse range of flora and fauna, the National Park is world-renowned for being home to the endangered one-horned rhino species, the only one of its kind found anywhere in the world.
