During this time, the planet will hit its greatest illuminated potential and will be 'nearly three times brighter than at its faintest,' claims Earth Sky. According to Earth Sky this will be the moment when ¡®the illuminated portion of Venus covers the greatest square area of the sky's dome.¡¯
You don¡¯t need any app to spot Venus. Just look west after sunset, wherever you are and the shiniest star you see (which is not technically a star), will be Venus. If you are blessed with clear weather, it will actually be hard to miss.
