However there are some loco drivers who are alert at all times and take all measures to save the wildlife.

The video went viral and people questioned authorities¡¯ preparedness to save and protect wildlife that crosses rail tracks to get from one part of the forest to another. And that was not an isolated case.
IFS officers on Twitter mentioned how it regularly happened animals like elephants who get struck down by fast-moving trains and die consequently.
However, there are some loco drivers who are alert at all times and take all measures to save the wildlife when they can. In the video that has now gone viral, one can see the train stopped in its tracks, waiting for more than 25 elephants to safely cross over to the other side.
Today at 07:30 hrs, alert crew LP D.K.Das, ALP A.K.Roy, SM L.R.Bordoloi & gateman saved a herd of more than 25 elephants by stopping T/No. 55862 DN near LC gate RT-5. If it was not for the alertness of the driver, a lot of these elephants might have been crushed to death or fatally injured.

The loco pilot and all the other crew members whose alertness and presence of mind was responsible for saving the lives of these elephants, should be duly awarded.
