Inter-species animal friendships are one of the most heartwarming things in the world, and thanks to the internet, we get to find out a lot about them. A horse named Peabody has become friends with three dogs. The cutest part? Peabody is the smallest horse in the world, and the dogs are even smaller than him.
Faith Smith, a 55-year-old miniature horse trainer USA's San Diego decided to move Peabody indoors so that he could get some attention. He was rejected by his mother because he too small to reach her udder.
Peabody is six weeks old and weighs only 19 pounds. However, he lives the best life with his three new doggo friends.
According to Smith, Peabody is the smallest horse in the world at his age.
¡°Peabody is the smallest horse in the world at his age. Horses are never indoor animals, but Peabody is so small that he could never live outside unless he gets bigger, and we are not sure if he will,¡± said Smith.
Peabody was rescued by Smith from his original owners after a vet suggested having him euthanized as he struggled to wean from his mother, had problems walking and his jaw was out of line as well. The previous owners also thought he was deaf and blind.
Regardless of all the medical problems, Smith rented a van and drove across the country to adopt Peabody. After a few weeks, he started to grow normally, his jaw aligned, and he even learned to walk. Now, Smith has decided to be Peabody's caretaker forever. She hopes that he grows in size in the future and goes out with other horses.
Smith was initially scared about her French bulldogs co-existing with Peabody turns out, all three of them are best friends with him now.
¡°In the beginning, he was really in survival mode. He was just too scared for love. But he gets along with the dogs now. Now that he knows where his next meal is coming from, he is starting to play with the dogs more and has let his guard down,¡± Faith was quoted as saying by Express.co.uk.
How adorable!
